Ph.D. Program in Education Sciences

An academic unit emphasizing interdisciplinary research, dedicated to innovative teaching and forward-looking studies in education, learning, and psychology. The Ph.D. program aims to cultivate educational researchers with expertise in educational neuroscience, doctoral-level professionals for the education industry, and interdisciplinary talents engaged in research and development for educational enterprises.

Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling

The program encompasses counseling psychology, basic psychology, and industrial-organizational psychology. In addition to training professionals in psychology, counseling, and guidance for schools, we also provide relevant training and counseling services for corporations, industries, and communities.

Department of Education and Learning Technology

The focus is on nurturing academic and practical professionals in the areas of educational administration and development, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, and educational theory.

Institute of Taiwan Languages and Language Teaching

Being recognized as the first of its kind in Taiwan that combines linguistic studies with language pedagogy, our Institute is dedicated to the research of languages in Taiwan and the teaching of these languages.

How long does it typically take to complete the Ph.D. program? +

The duration of study for doctoral students is from two to seven years, but the duration of study for in-service graduate students can be extended by two years.

What are the admission requirements for international students? +

Can I propose my own research topic, or do I need to align with a faculty member's research? +

The postgraduate research topic must be in line with the supervisor and the professional scope of the school. It shall be determined by the student after discussion with the supervisor. The student shall fill in the application form for the proposed supervisor (dissertation pre-written topic must be filled in) and submit it to the director for confirmation.

Is proficiency in Mandarin required for admission? +

No. But foreign students must complete the required Chinese credits in accordance with the "Implementation Points for Foreign Students Taking Chinese Courses in Our University" before they can graduate and leave the school.
